This is a fun and entertaining movie
about a 12-year-old boy named David. David falls down in the woods near
his house only to learn that when he gets up and runs home that he has
been gone for eight years. Not only does he not realize any time has passed,
he is still only 12-years-old and wearing the same cloths as when he left
his house. However, his family has moved, and his little brother is now
older than he is.
The government soon get involved and
begins running tests on David. They learn that his brain contains not only
space navigational charts, but also images of a strange ship they found
disabled the same night David returned. When David gets into the hanger
where the ship is being studied, it lets him in and the computer on board
expects him to navigate. After some discussion on the matter, David allows
the computer to scan his brain for the navigation charts. But the computer
"uploads" more than just charts, and has a complete change of personality.
David and his computerized ship have quite an adventure before things are
finally set back right (well more or less right).
